WGS 301E. Women’s Health Issues 3.00 Crosslisted: HTH 301E
This course will take an international and human rights approach to provide an overview of health issues within the context of a woman’s life cycle - childhood, adolescence, reproductive years, and aging. We will pay special consideration to the sociocultural and economic factors that play a role in the woman’s access to quality basic health care. Attention will be given to critical issues of women’s health such as access to health care, body image and gender based violence. Such issues as maternal mortality, sexuality, violence, harmful traditional practices, and sex trafficking will be discussed.
