SMAD 371. Narrative Media Studies

3.00
Study of narrative theories that focus on the forms and effects of storytelling in cinema and television. Emphasis on how such theories explain the cultural impact and personal utility of narrative contents in everyday life. Consideration of “the hero`s journey” in a variety of film genres and TV formats. SMAD majors: pre- or corequisites are SMAD 301  or SMAD 301L  and junior or senior standing. Non-SMAD majors: must be declared Film Studies minors.
