HIST 405. Travel and Exploration 3.00 This class is about travel and exploration in world history, using specific episodes to examine motives, consequences and the experience of travel. In studying long-distance trade, pilgrimages, voyages of exploration and discovery, and even tourism, we will look at the logistics of travel, attempts to map the world, and the difficulties people had in interpreting what they found. History Majors must have earned credit for HIST 395 prior to enrolling in this course.
