FAM 400. Issues and Applications

This course examines the structures, functions and dynamics of families with consideration of diverse cultural definitions and contexts. Selected theories that inform research are presented in light of contemporary issues facing families in U.S. society. Course activities require students to integrate knowledge from their major[s] and the family studies minor and will strengthen the research, information access and lifelong learning capacities of the students. Prerequisites: FAM 133  or SOCI 276 , three additional courses in the Family Studies minor, and Junior or Senior standing.
