Program Description


The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders offers the Bachelor of Science (BS) and Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Communication Sciences and Disorders.

Basic Science Requirements

Requirement to meet basic science requirements for ASHA certification standards. Some graduate programs may have more specific requirements. Students are advised to check their programs of interest early to ensure they are taking the appropriate courses.

  • One course with BIO prefix Credits: 3.00 - 4.00 4
  • One course with either PHYS or CHEM prefix Credits: 3.00 - 4.00 4
Restrictive electives: 6 Credit Hours

Select 6 credits from the following options.

  • One course with BIO prefix (in addition to the CSD basic science requirement) Credits: 3.00 - 4.00 4

  • One course with MATH prefix (in addition to MATH 220) Credits: 3.00 4
