Chemistry Minor

The minor in chemistry is designed for students majoring in a STEM field who want to gain additional technical competencies in chemistry. The chemistry minor is not open to students majoring in chemistry or biophysical chemistry.

The requirements for a minor in chemistry are 24 credit hours in chemistry, distributed as follows:

Courses


Organic Chemistry: One or two lectures and corresponding lab 4-8 Credit Hours


Physical Chemistry: One lecture and corresponding lab 5 Credit Hours


Analytical Chemistry 4 Credit Hours


An approved three-credit CHEM elective


Total: 24 Credit Hours


Additional Information


In order to complete this minor, prerequisite courses in mathematics and physics are required. These courses collectively fulfill the nine-credit approved technical elective package for the Bachelor of Science in Engineering .
