The art minor attempts to:
- Broaden students' understandings of the value and role of the visual arts in general culture.
- Deepen their appreciation for personal artistic production.
- Enhance their creativity and ability to think independently.
Minor Requirements
A minimum of 18 credit hours is required for the art minor.

Two 100-level Foundations Courses: 6 Credit Hours
FDS 108 and most 200-level classes have 100-level prerequisites.
Two 200-level Studio Art Classes: 6 Credit Hours
Does not include ART 200 . Most 300-400-level classes have specific 200-level prerequisites.
Two 300-400-level Studio Art Classes: 6 Credit Hours
Does not include ART 493 , ART 495 , ART 496 , ART 497 or ART 499 . These 300-400 level courses cannot count toward the students’ major(s).
