The industrial design major seeks to:
- Integrate knowledge of the visual arts with applied design technology.
- Enhance problem-solving and communication skills in the creation of design concepts.
- Develop student knowledge that optimizes the function, value and appearance of manufactured products and systems.

- Quantitative requirement (in addition to General Education courses) 3 Credit Hours 2
- Scientific Literacy requirement (in addition to General Education courses) 3 Credit Hours
- Major requirements (listed below) 78 Credit Hours
Total: 125 Credit Hours
Note: Students can double count up to two courses, thus reducing the total credit hours to 119. Students will need to enroll in three additional credit hours to reach the university minimum requirement of 120 credit hours.

Major Requirements
The industrial design major requires 78 credit hours in art, art history and art-related courses. Of these hours, 42 credits must be in INDU courses, some of which may the B.S. Natural/Social Science requirement.
