MUS 346. Large Ensemble Jazz Arranging

This course introduces students to the techniques of arranging for large jazz ensemble (“big band”). Students will study representative works of seminal big band composers active between 1930 and the present day, and create and record a full big band arrangement. Prerequisite(s): MUS 255 , MUS 305 , MUS 345 , or permission of the instructor.
