EXED 341. Characteristics of Learners with Disabilities Accessing the General Curriculum Credits 3.00 PeopleSoft Course ID 012079 Grading Basis GRD
The course covers historical, ethical and legal aspects involving the education of children with disabilities. Definitions and foundational characteristics of teaching children with disabilities accessing the general curriculum are featured. Identification, education and evaluation of academic skills and behavior of students with disabilities are presented. How family, cultural, socioeconomic and environment impact education are discussed. Professional behavior standards are examined. Prerequisite(s): EXED 200; SPED majors or BIS majors with a SPED concentration.
