ANTH 300. The Anthropology of Food

This course explores anthropological approaches to food production, distribution, preparation and consumption in the contemporary world. Topics include food preferences and taboos, food and the senses, ritual and identity, technological risks, diet and nutrition, cuisine and class and the political economy of food. Prerequisite(s): Any lower-level course in anthropology or permission of the instructor.
