The second of a two-part sequence focuses on the fundamental principles of thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics in a unified approach. Coverage includes the 2nd law of thermodynamics, transient heat transfer and fluid motion. Applications of principles to thermal-fluid systems across engineering disciplines are emphasized. Reinforcement of course material is provided through experiential learning opportunities and in-depth problem solving. Prerequisite: Grade of “C” or better in ENGR 311 .
