MATH 368. Statistical Computing

This course is an intensive introduction to statistical computing with R. It intends to develop core computing skill to complement traditional course work in statistics and lay the groundwork for further study for data analytics and data mining. The class will cover the basics of programming in R; visualization of multivariate data; generating random variables; bootstrap, jackknife, and permutation methods; Monte Carlo methods in inference; and Monte Carlo integration and variable reduction. Prerequisite: MATH 229 .
