SMAD 465. The Entertainment Industry 3.00 The American entertainment industry is a $900 billion a year business. This course examines the most prominent modes of entertainment — Television and feature film. Emphasis is on the struggle between art and commerce in programming. Industry professionals will address the critical aspects of the business, from Idea through Exhibition. The method of instruction will be lecture, discussion and guest speakers. Prerequisite: SMAD 201 and SMAD 202 and SMAD 203 , plus SMAD 301 or SMAD 301L , plus junior or senior standing, or permission of instructor.
