SMAD 398. Critical Studies in Media Arts and Design

Special studies of contemporary media and their contents. Emphasis on the analysis of emerging issues in content production, reception and media effects. Focus on the critical methods used to examine such issues. Consideration of how particular methods may be applied in international as well as American media contexts. Prerequisite: SMAD 201 , SMAD 202  and SMAD 203 , plus SMAD 301  or SMAD 301L , and junior or senior standing, and permission of instructor.
