ARAB 411. Colloquial Egyptian Arabic I

This course provides an introduction to Egyptian Colloquial Arabic (ECA), the most widely spoken and understood Arabic dialect. Students will learn the phonological, morphological, syntactic, and semantic particularities of ECA, and the major differences between Modern Standard Arabic and ECA, while developing their listening and speaking skills necessary for personal everyday life. Prerequisite: ARAB 300  or permission of the instructor.
