Chemistry, Biophysical Chemistry Major, B.S.
Program Description
This versatile major allows the student to focus on obtaining a solid foundation in chemistry and applying physical science concepts and techniques to solving a broad range of biological problems. The major emphasizes problem-solving, hands-on learning and creative, interdisciplinary thinking. The major interfaces well with neuroscience, molecular biology, biochemistry, artificial intelligence, data science, nanoscience, materials science and engineering. This interdisciplinary major provides a solid foundation for success in many types of graduate and professional schools as well as a broad range of teaching, industrial, and government jobs.
Students cannot major in both Chemistry and Biophysical Chemistry.
