Education, Initial Licensure in Middle Education Concentration, M.A.T.

The Post-Baccelaureate Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T) in middle school education is designed to lead to initial teacher licensure with endorsements in one content area. The post bac format is designed to serve candidates who have completed an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university. Through advisement and thorough transcript review, applicants must complete all required content competencies including 21-24 credit hours in one licensure content area.

Semester One (spring or summer): 9 Credit Hours

Choose one of the following courses: 3 Credit Hours

Semester Two (fall): 12 Credit Hours

Choose one of the following content areas:

English licensure

Social Studies licensure

Mathematics licensure

Science licensure

Semester Three (spring): 12 Credit Hours

MSSE 650. Internship Seminar 3.00
MSSE 675. Internship in Middle and Secondary Education 3.00-4.00 (MSSE 675 is taken twice for a total of 6.00 credit hours)
