Statistics Minor

A minor in statistics requires a minimum of 18 credit hours. Students seeking the minor in statistics must complete one of the following options.
Credit by Examination
The Mathematics and Statistics, Department of offers credit by examination for some of the courses taught in the department. Students who want to take an examination must apply to the department head. Upon application students will receive details regarding approval to take the examination.

Option 1
Not open to students majoring in mathematics. Students completing Option 1 must obtain prior approval of the courses to be counted in the minor from the statistics minor adviser, Dr. Nusrat Jahan. Choose one of the following: 3-4 Credit Hours
Choose four of the following: 12 Credit Hours
Total: 18-19 Credit Hours
Option 2
Not open to students majoring in mathematics. Students completing Option 2 must obtain prior approval of the courses to be counted in the minor from the statistics minor adviser, Dr. Nusrat Jahan. Choose one of the following:
Choose two of the following: 6 Credit Hours
Total: 20-21 Credit Hours
Option 3
The Option 3 minor in statistics is only open to students majoring in mathematics. Up to six hours may be double-counted towards the mathematics major. Students completing Option 3 must obtain prior approval of the courses to be counted in the minor from the statistics minor adviser, Dr. Nusrat Jahan. Electives: 6-10 Credit Hours
Total: 18-20 Credit Hours

1 MATH 318 may be substituted for MATH 229 and MATH 329 by students taking at least 9 hours of elective courses. |
