GEOG 355. Global Positioning Systems


Credits 3.00 PeopleSoft Course ID 013957

This course provides fundamental and advanced instruction in global positioning systems (GPS) technology. Topics include the history and development of GPS, system operation, the integration of satellite and ground components, applications and visualization. Active learning allows students to operate different models of receivers, minimize field error, gather and differentially correct data, and import the finished project into a GIS for further analysis. Students will form teams to design, execute and present a formal project to a client.
