GEOG 230. Spatial Thinking and Problem Solving Credits 3.00 PeopleSoft Course ID 004877
Introduction to the critical thinking skills associated with problems with inherent spatial components. Identification of the spatial elements of a given problem, the data requirements for addressing that problem, collections/acquisitions and organization of data, and use of geographic information systems to explore spatial patterns relevant to the problem of interest. Prerequisite(s): GEOG 215 with a “C” or better, GEOG 216 with a “C” or better and an introductory course in Statistics (ISAT 251 , MATH 220 or equivalent) or permission of the instructor.
