EXED 484. Inclusive Practices in Special Education Credits 3.00-4.00 PeopleSoft Course ID 012705
This course is a detailed study of inclusive practices for students with disabilities. The course emphasizes building skills in professional collaboration required by special education teachers in their role as consultant, co-teacher, collaborative support and case manager. Teacher candidates will learn to adjust assignments and provide scaffolding and accommodations in order to develop independent functioning in students with disabilities. Skills that allow both special education teachers and students with disabilities to function within a general education setting will be developed. Teacher candidates enrolled in this course will complete a K-12 classroom experience within a general education placement a minimum of two days a week. Prerequisite(s): EXED 341 or EXED 342 .
