MUS 254. Form and Analysis: Popular Music

Credits 3.00 PeopleSoft Course ID 014231

An investigation of popular music in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Students will develop an understanding of formal, harmonic, metric, rhythmic and timbral aspects of popular music in a variety of eras as well as an awareness of its historical trends. Prerequisite: Grade of “C-” or higher in MUS 141  or MUS 241 .
