WRTC 301. Language, Law and Ethics

Broad examination of the nexus of law, ethics and language. Exploration of a variety of genres in legal writing, providing a background in the role of law and ethics in society and helping students understand how language operates in the construction of legal and moral codes. Primary topics include intellectual property, privacy, legal issues in communication, the history of legal language and the ownership and ethical use of information. Prerequisite: WRTC 200  and WRTC 201  or permission of instructor
