ANTH 430. Primate Conservation Biology

A discussion-based course that examines the impact of human activities on biodiversity, with an emphasis on the primates. Concepts and theories in conservation biology will be explored and applied to understanding the threats to wild primates and evaluating conservation strategies. Cultural and political perspectives and philosophical and ethical arguments for conserving biodiversity will also be considered. Prerequisite:  ANTH 196   or BIO 250  or permission of the instructor.
