ARTH 466. Art and Nationalism

Advanced seminar examining the intersection between art and nationalism from the late-eighteenth century to the present. Topics may include propaganda, monuments and the construction of national memory. Particular attention will be devoted to the shifting nature of commemorative practice throughout the modern period.  Prerequisite: ARTH 205 or ARTH 206.
