HIST 484. Nineteenth-Century European Civilization, 1815-1914 3.00 An interpretive study of European history from the Congress of Vienna to the outbreak of World War I. Particular attention is given to the intellectual climate of the period, with emphasis on liberalism, nationalism, socialism and nihilism. Prerequisite: HIST 395 or permission of the instructor.
