SMAD 463. Film Adaptations

The study of the process of adapting literature into feature films. Consideration is given to the original literary work, as well as to the changes undergone in its adaptation to film. Prerequisite: SMAD 201  and SMAD 202  and SMAD 203 , plus SMAD 301   or SMAD 301L   or ENG 380 /SMAD 380 , and junior or senior standing; for non-majors: junior and senior standing and admission to the cross disciplinary minor in creative writing or the cross disciplinary minor in film studies; or permission of instructor.
