ENGR 231. Engineering Design I

This course provides students with an overview of the engineering design process with a focus on early phase design including: understanding and detailing customer requirements, exploring the engineering solution space and down-selecting conceptual design solutions. This course includes significant team and project-based components and provides an introduction to interpersonal communication skills that lead to effective problem solving, idea generation and decision making. Prerequisite: Grade of “C” or better in ENGR 112 , grade of “C-“  or better in MATH 236 . Corequisites: PHYS 140L  and PHYS 240 .
